Without systems, policies and procedures to support implementation, Pyramid Model training is much less effective. In fact, it often leads to frustration, discouragement, and resistance. This workshop walks your leadership team through the process of planning for successful program-wide implementation of the Pyramid Model. Topics include staff buy-in, family engagement, systems for challenging behavior, data collection, and more.

This training is all about the PREVENTION of challenging behavior. It's designed for staff members who work directly with children and families. We'll explore how to more effectively build nurturing and responsive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. We'll plan for developmentally appropriate schedules and routines, and practice giving good directions and reinforcing positive behavior. We'll also examine how the environment changes behavior, and how to set up the environment for success.

This training is all about the PROMOTION of the behaviors we want. It's designed for staff members who work directly with children and families. We'll learn how to use a variety of methods to intentionally teach emotional literacy, friendship skills, and anger management throughout the day.

Even when we are implementing the prevention and promotion practices, some children will continue to display challenging behavior. This training is all about INTERVENTION to respond appropriately to challenging behavior, and to replace it with desired behavior. We recommend that staff members complete Modules One and Two prior to this training.

This training goes beyond the basics! It is for staff members who have already completed the modules and are ready to deepen or expand their use of Pyramid Model practices.
